I highly recommend this book. As a trainer of Belgian Malinois I learned a lot about training of MWD and training of the handlers. These two entities are constantly reading each other and not just through vocal indicators. The beauty of this relationship is that they in fact become one entitity of two parts. The book provides a good look at the dangers they face and the expressions of grief by both the MSD and the handler on the loss of the other.Product details

Hello, the preview that was sent seemed to suggest that this book was about the "dogs" i.e. canines, that are part of an armed force. I was disappointed that the book centred around the author's experiences and rarely included dogs. The antics and actions of canines were hardly mentioned.
Would of got 5 stars if you mentioned my name once. If you see Guy tell him hi for me (Civil Affairs Team from FB Tycz). Had a great time working with you guys and Rico's handler too.
This story is based on a guy who is looking for his ulimate passion/ career working with dogs. He goes through different avenues to do so. He talks of the stress that working in war areas does to not only himself but also his family. He does sound a litle selfish in parts of the story i thought. Putting money before his family?? that was just my thoughts though
I am a dog lover. It was fascinating following the training of the dogs for various tasks, but this was not in detail. I was disappointed that the pair did nor come across explosives in the 4 years he was there and I began to get frustrated.
